Researchers from the FishME project share insights from intensive angling of non-native brook trout in high-mountain lakes and awareness‑building

This work shows that angling sessions with local anglers substantially reduced the biomass of previously angling-naïve populations but did not produce a measurable shift toward more conservation-oriented attitudes. Authors suggest that angling sessions can complement eradication actions and that structured, long-term educational programs are needed to foster tangible educational outcomes.
